You've probably seen the ads for payday advance companies where you come in and write a check to get an advance on your payday. Some companies offer loans in return for a vehicle title. You just go in, fill out the application, verify your checking account, give your ID, take in your bank statement, proof of employment, sign a few papers...you get the idea. Later, when you get paid, many of these places make you come in to buy your check back instead of just depositing it. That way, they get their money on the day it's due and don't have to wait.
